Possibly premature, but Im closing the door to 2008 and looking forward to a new year with new beginnings. Before I do so, I owe a massive thank you to all the different musicians I've had the pleasure of supporting and performing with during the year. Thank you to the promoters and more importantly, thank you to anyone thats come along to a gig and showed your appreciation for real music.

Thanks to all the school teachers and principals around the country for inviting me to talk, sing and act the maggot with your students. The highlight of my year, and I really appreciate the emails.

I began work on a film, which is pretty much completed, but waiting on the right time to be introduced to the screen. So thank you to all the sponsors for your patience, and all the cast and crew for making a dream become a reality. This, above all else is where I'll be directing my energy next year. In the meantime, a private screening will be organized and you'll all be notified accordingly.

Thanks also to the genuine journalists that have been spreading the word without sensationalism. The only hope for our media.

Finally, on a personal note, I want to thank my family and real friends for your love, support and guidance through what has been one of the most difficult years of my life. Physically, financially and emotionally. Its not easy to admit, being "mr inspiration" and all, but its not easy to disguise either. And I think my new years resolution is that I need to become more mr selfish from now on, cause Ive been spreading my energy too thin down a one way street. Enough said.

I'll be taking no more bookings for music or schools until further notice. I'm going to concentrate on my health and also some writing until Christmas, provided my electricity doesn't get cut off. I hope you have a great festive season and find the true joy of celebration without the issues of spending money.

Take care and god bless
Paddy

"Let you that feel undeserving, embrace a new gift. and let you that feel unworthy embrace love. cast out the darkness from your heart. unbind the chains and release your spirit. show me hope, show me you and I will show you new." (just a note from a book I once imagined)
