Happy Peaceful Healthy and Prosperous 2010 to anyone that may stumble across these words!
I have to say, living in Ireland, in Offaly especially, we've had the blessing of a White Christmas, which for anyone who is a child at heart just like me, was a dream come true! It looked unbelievably beautiful. The nasty head colds and chest infection was a price I was more than willing to pay. And for me, the ideal closure to a long and I guess in some ways, productive 2009.
For the year TEN, I am starting it off, as I should every year, with a positive outlook and although many people faced serious health problems, adverse weather conditions and financial woes, I hope we can all go forward with a hopeful and optimistic frame of mind. Difficult I know, but vital. Life is for living as they say and with a bit of good fortune I hope this opportunity will be around for a long long time to come.
Okay, there's my boring formal rambling out of my system. I forgot to mention TEN should be a year for Fun also, cause laughter is essential of course! :o)

FILM NEWS
I wrote and produced a short film called 'The Boy (...Who Flew!)' as part of a competition run by Scanbitz for this years Clones Film Festival. A script I submitted earlier on in the year was shortlisted with four others and each film had to be shot and post-produced in 48 hours in time for a screening and awards ceremony on the closing night of the festival. Needless to say, we didn't carry home any Oscars or Francies, but we were beaten fairly and squarely by a great little silent short called 'The Fag'.
I do want to thank everyone who was involved in the making of it. Director Alan Farrell, Director of Photography Kevin Glynn, Sound Neasa De Barra, Music Dave Mccune, Camera Assistant JP Whearty and our colourful cast Matthew O' Brien, Pat Fallon, Emily Parkes and John 'lover boy' Slattery. And of course all our crew and researchers and organizers of the Clones Film Festival. Cheers lads.
The short is uploaded onto vimeo. Here's the link:
THE BOY (...WHO FLEW!)
'The Moment' is the current film we've got in post production, but the process is so slow when micro-budgets and lack of funding is a factor. We've been getting positive feedback tho so with a bit of luck it won't take too much longer.

By for now,
