PHOENIX ARTS FESTIVAL to screen 'OUT OF TUNE'

'Out of Tune' is a 25 minute Short Film, set in a restless suburban town, about a young struggling musician named Steve, (played by local actor/singer-songwriter Damian Farrell.) He has a nervous breakdown after being rejected by judges on an 'X-Factor' type show, and decides to quit chasing his dreams, but finds it's not that simple to just walk away from music, which has been his life.

All shooting took place on location in Offaly and Westmeath, which was only made possible by our generous sponsors. Therefore it is now our privilege to promote and develop further, the potential for filmmakers and actors in the midlands.

Written & Directed by Paddy Slattery, this Low budget Debut Independent project, has attracted some of the most creative and professional Crew members and Actors available.

Offaly's own Wayne Brennan has offered up his musical expertise and composed an original score for the soundtrack.

Subsequently, this film has been selected by Underground Cinema to feature as the Premiere screening at the Launch of Underground TV. An event that was simultaneously viewed in a recorded 11 countries, including USA, China, South Africa and Australia. It has also been screened at select festivals around Ireland, and may possibly have it's UK premiere later in 2010.

Tullamore in Co. Offaly is it's next port of call, as it will be screened in the Phoenix Arts Festival on Saturday 8th May. Afterwards there will be a Q&A with Cast and Crew members, followed by a live performance of Original music, by Wayne Brennan, Damian Farrell and Paddy Slattery.
