’Out of Tune’ but certainly hitting all the right notes!
It is with great joy and sense of accomplishment, on this, the longest day of the year, and delightfully uncharacteristic for a Monday, that I, should have the pleasure of announcing, that…
OK OK, ENOUGH of the spiel!!! (I would make a great M.C. tho, ya have to admit!)
Seriously tho, I do have the honour of telling you that our debut Independent Short film, ‘Out of Tune’ has been selected by Underground Cinema, to be screened at the launch of the ‘Underground Cinema Roadshow’ in Fermoy in Co. Cork on Sunday, the 4th of July.
The event is aptly titled ‘Independents Day’ and will showcase only Irish Independent productions, which is a great opportunity for Irish audiences and aspiring filmmakers to see the quality of films being made around the country today.
For more info. Please click on this link,Underground Cinema Roadshow 2010 …and don’t just click, but be prepared to witness what many leading industry figures are noticing, which is a healthy growth of Irish filmmaking talent.
If you, like thousands of cinema goers around the country, need a break from paying criminally expensive fee’s to see 2 hours of brain-numbing junk in your cinema (including the 3D junk! Although, I did enjoy Avatar, getting away from the point), then do what many people are beginning to do, and that is to, come along to an event like this, and watch a REAL film, or loads of REAL short films that actually have a story to tell. Not only are you being entertained, but you’re supporting a home-grown industry.
The Irish film industry has yet to come of age, and this platform provided by the Underground Cinema is a very positive sign of what the future holds and the extraordinary potential that will be harvested. I for one, as an aspiring filmmaker am going to seize this opportunity with both hands.
I’m telling ya, I shouldda became an M.C. But do please come down to this event. It promises to be a brilliant nights entertainment, with a Q&A session with all the filmmakers involved.
Admission is only €5. That’s about what it costs to see the opening act of ‘Sex in the Shitty 2’ (I‘m sure there was a typo back there somewhere, but not for the life of me do I know where)
Where Paddy? I’ll tell ya where… Fermoy Youth Centre, in Co. Cork. 8pm.
That’s where, and we’ll see you there!
